Hello, I'm Jaron Browning
Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate #82307
Supervised by Kevin Fall, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor
I’m a local who grew up right here in central Texas. I’ve always had an interest in figuring out what makes people tick and how people change, so studying mental health has been a perfect fit. After graduating with my bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas, I realized pretty quickly that I needed a quick break from the academic world. I worked for a couple of years at a medical supply company, and then started my master’s program at Texas State University. I graduated with a master’s degree in Professional Counseling in 2019. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with friends & family, exercising, eating good food, and watching entirely too much TV.
The best compliment I’ve ever had from a client was that they felt a sense of relief walking into my office. No matter how difficult or painful the challenges you are facing, I strive to make therapy with me as comfortable and inviting as possible. Therapy is a joint effort and I always welcome and encourage feedback from clients. You’re in control, so if something isn’t working, let’s change it! Starting your journey on the therapeutic process can be intimidating, but I am here to guide you on the process to meaningful growth.
Therapy with me
I would describe my therapy style as encouraging and genuine. Therapy can be a challenging process, so I work to help clients acknowledge and utilize their strengths and positive qualities to create changes in their lives. I love exploring relationships with clients, whether that’s romantic, family, or friendships. I also work with clients to explore meaning and values, either as an individual or as a couple. I think it’s always worthwhile to think about what gives your life meaning and where you want your life journey to take you, and therapy is a great space to have those conversations.
I am passionate about working with couples and individuals (including both adults and teens) experiencing problems in their relationships or problems adjusting to major life transitions. I work from a trauma-informed perspective and work to help clients understand the impact of trauma to cultivate healing and growth from traumatic experiences.
I may be a good fit for you if:

“You have experienced a major life transition and are struggling with this change.”
“You are feeling lost or directionless about the future.”

“You and your partner argue regularly, and nothing changes or improves.”
